This
wurm hat has such a gorgeous turned brim. I plan to hunt down some other patterns that make use of this ingenious technique. Though I don't mind ribbing, my cast on always looks a little like someone chewed on it if I'm not careful. It must be because I take "cast on loosely" to heart and overcompensate. In any case, this technique is my new favorite way to start off a hat. I might even try it on a sweater some day.
I parted with my massive collection of Piecework magazines last week, after thoroughly enjoying them for years. These Jane Austen Knits needed one last flip-through. Don't worry--I'll be passing all of these magazines on to those who will enjoy them. They're too lovely for the recycling bin.
Is today Wednesday?? Kate!! You are posting from the future!!!!!!! I'm very impressed. (I almost thought I was crazy and had lost a day there for a minute...)
ReplyDeleteIt's a glitch--my TARDIS is terrible with dates...
ReplyDeletenothing wrong with posting a day early; I did that last week on purpose; and Wanda (Reinventing Mother) usually does her Tuesday if she can...:)
ReplyDeleteI think that hat will be just beautiful!!!
My goodness you are getting rid of a lot. Hope you won't be missing any of it later. but there is always google and librarians and libraries for such things also :)
i've been on a 'clean out' rampage, too.....invigorating isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThat color pink is awesome! I too have a stack of Piecework and JA knits. I can't bear yet to get rid of them. You'll have to share where they went. Maybe that will inspire me!
ReplyDeleteI love the ribbing on the Wurm hat too. I want to make some more hats with that ribbing. Such a great idea.
ReplyDeleteThe pink is a great color. I've been cleaning out to it is so freeing!
ReplyDeleteThat is one of my favorite ways to start a hat also ... and it keeps your ears extra toasty!
ReplyDeleteI made a hat for my son a few years back with the rolled hem brim, and like you, I loved it!
ReplyDeleteI find it hard to think of you giving up your Piecework Magazines. It is one of my favorites.
I don't know how you can bear to part with Jane Austen Knits! I did clear out lots of my magazines when we moved and donated them to the local Wool Guild, so I knew they were going to an appreciative audience!
ReplyDeleteLove, love the colour!
