I suddenly had a hankering for Maeve Binchy's slice-of-Irish-life novels, so I checked these two out of the library and immersed myself in Dublin.

They were lovely and absorbing, but I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to read next.
Thoughts?

  1. This is about Wales but How Green Was My Valley is wonderful.

ooh - Wales! The movie "The Englishman who went up a Hill and came down a mountain" is perfectly Welsh. Alas, I don't know any Irish things, really. The Quiet Man? But again, a movie. Clearly I need more Welsh and Irish lit in my repertoire...

I suppose there's always Ulysses, if you could stomach it! ;) I need to try it again one of these days, when I've got lots of time, or deadlines, or both, and an annotated version, probably
