I finished
Gone Girl the other day and just began
Far From the Madding Crowd. And after a mere 19 days,
Lucy's sweater is just about complete. All that remains is to sew on the
buttons, these 1930s glass ones, which I am anxiously awaiting.
I've been contemplating what to do with the leftovers. I might stretch them with these skeins of
madelinetosh vintage in parchment and mare, which I bought at the same time as the yarn for the cardigan. I'm thinking either
a striped pullover, or perhaps a
cozy hooded jacket with a zipper, if I am brave enough.
Meanwhile, I am plodding along on this
newborn Clara dress, in a very fine
wool/silk blend. I finally tracked down a copy of the pattern at
this shop, which I hope to visit in person one day. This
helpful chart provides additional sizes. There's also an inspiring photo of the dress in white which is currently gracing my desktop and spurring me on. I'm cutting it close, as my friend's baby is due in 5 weeks. Wish me luck!
I still can't get over the amazing colour of this cardigan. I have to find the same and make one for myself now. It felt a little bit like fall this morning.
ReplyDeleteIt's malabrigo rios in the sunset colorway and I think the adult version of this pattern is called My Favourite!
DeleteWhat a gorgeous cardigan! Adding to my queue
ReplyDeleteThe pattern is excellently written and thanks to a little trick has the tidiest underarms of any top-down sweater I've ever come across.
DeleteThe cardigan is lovely but my heart has been won be the buttons!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't believe my luck when I found them online. I really hope they are as good a match in person as they seem.
DeleteFantastic, you've got busy needles

ReplyDeleteI am really starting to enjoy knitting the dress now that the seed stitch is out of the way. It was a bit of a slog but will be so worth it.
DeleteLove the cardigan, and those buttons are perfect! I really want to knit a Clara dress for our baby-on-the-way, but I can't find my paper copy of the pattern, and it irks me to no end to have to buy another copy. Wish it were easily available online!
ReplyDeleteOh, that's such a bummer. I was planning to scan it because I can just see that happening to me too
DeleteThis is such a pretty cardigan! And I loooove the buttons!
ReplyDeleteThere seems to be a Clara dress around every corner for me at the moment and I'm very tempted! It is such a cute pattern! But there are other things first and I'm so very slow with everything in this summer heat.
Looking forward to see your Clara growing next week!
That's just how it was for me too. I kept spying them everywhere, hoping for an excuse to track down the pattern.
