Yarn Along: Knitting Wrathfully

This week I finished both Lucy's Rhinebeck sweater and Emily Climbs.  There was a fabulous passage in it about Aunt Elizabeth knitting wrathfully--while Emily wishes she had her knitting too because, "It was nasty to sit there, unoccupied, and wonder what was coming."  Haven't we all been there--in both their shoes--at some point or other?

I've gone back to working on Sebastian's baptismal gown. It's nearly to his feet now.  And I'm already halfway through the final book in the Emily of New Moon series--Emily's Quest. Has anyone seen the miniseries based on the books?  Is it worth tracking down?

The only problem with knitting wrathfully? The gajillion mistakes I make. I learned it was better to go for a walk. He he. I love the colors and stripes in the sweater.

The sweater is gorgeous! I want one in my size in those same colors. I think I may try to find some of that color fiber at Rhinebeck this weekend!

1. I love the knitting references you always find.
2. I want to read these Emily books.
3. I have the Emily DVDs! I haven't watched them yet... I think I know what we'll be doing while you are here!

Lovely quote! I relate to that feeling - knitting can really channel unrest and anxiety, don't you think?
And your sweater is beautiful - I like the autumnal colors!

Oh, I LOVED the Emily books! I read them growing up and have been wanting to re-read them for some time now. Dare I say I like her better than Anne? :)
