This week, I'm visiting NJ, where everyone is pitching in to prepare for our baby shower. While waiting for the final batch of quiche to finish in the oven, I'm reading Green Dolphin Street and knitting away on some obligatory knitting--a baby blanket a friend asked me to knit for her daughter, Kira, who is 3.
Poor Kira has gone without a handknit baby blanket her whole little life. Her mama's knitting days are over for the time being, so she bought me yarn when I agreed to make one. I am approximately halfway done. I seriously cannot wait to finish it, so I can knit for my own kid, who keeps elbowing me.

You are a good friend! I just finished 2 baby blankets - they're so small but took so long. I never guessed they'd take that long.
Mmmm....quiche. I wanted to make one for dinner tonight, instead we had eggs fried with spinach and feta. It was still scrumpious!!!
I hope your baby shower is lovely.
You are so sweet to be knitting the blanket, and I am loving the colour.
